Logging
Logging, or commercial logging, involves cutting trees for sale as
timber or pulp. The timber is used in agriculture (planting crops),
cattle-ranching, mining, oil and gas extraction, development, and
subsistence-farming. The logs, or wood, are also used to make
homes, furniture, paper, pencils, wood-chips for packaging products,
fuel for cooking and providing heat for homes, etc.

Mining is the extraction (removal) of
minerals and metals from earth. Manganese, tantalum, cassiterite,
copper, tin, nickel, bauxite (aluminum ore), iron ore, gold, silver,
and diamonds are just some examples of what is mined.
